This piece of artwork is just one example from a collection created by one of our former students at City of Leeds School, Nazish.

The artwork is a really vibrant, culturally-rich example of a mixed-media portfolio from City of Leeds School.

Lantern Festival

Lantern Festival

Lantern Festival

The Little London Community Lantern Festival took place on the evening of Friday 11th November.

This event was the culmination of lots of hard work from dedicated staff, students and parents/carers of our own school and those of our partnership primary schools.

Lots of brightly coloured lanterns were carried from the primary schools which led to a procession from the bottom of our driveway up to the main hall at City of Leeds School. Our Headteacher, Georgiana Sale, and Jill Wood, Headteacher at Little London Primary School then addressed the crowds.

There were many people from the community there to enjoy a fantastic night of entertainment and free food. After the celebration everyone made their way outside to release 6 sky lanterns that represented each school involved.

The whole event was a huge success!

Cultural Identity Art Project

On 11th October some of our year 9 BTEC students had the opportunity to work with visual artist, Vincent James.  The workshop took place in the  school’s Art & Design department and our students explored contemporary pop art themes.  They created fantastic pop-art inspired artwork.

The workshop was the start of a year-long partnership with the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and ten of our year 9 students will now go on to attend further workshops in the park.
